program?
A: Yes. In fact international assignments are encouraged and valued as we
operate more than 120 facilities in 28 countries, with major presence in
North and South America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
Q: What career training and development opportunities are available?
A: Your development begins with the completion of a Succession and
Development Plan whereby you list your short-term (1-2 yrs) and long-term
(3-5 years) career goals. The plan then links your career goals to a
specific set of competencies. Rating yourself on these competencies based
on your current experiences then focuses you to areas that need
improvement. Once areas of improvement have been identified, you can seek
out formal and informal opportunities to develop in these areas. Your
Succession and Development Plan is tracked and updated each year and is
viewed by senior management.
It is then up to you to take the initiative to utilize the tools and
resources available to you to target areas that need improvement. Tools
and resources that will be available to you include formal and informal
mentors, CFO University (a web-based learning tool), formal classroom
learning, seminars, professional certifications and others.

A: Formal evaluations take place annually using our Performance
Management process. Performance Management is a process that aligns your
work to ArvinMeritor’s vision, strategies, goals and objectives. It is
designed to give managers and employees a way to communicate job
expectations and set annual priorities to be measured against.

A: For US Recruiting, ArvinMeritor, Inc. hires students who have

Q: How is the program governed?
A: The program is steered via our FDP Leadership Committee comprised of
senior leaders within the Finance group including the CFO, the Controller
and Finance Vice Presidents. The Leadership Committee provides overall
guidance for the Finance Development Program and is broken down into
three subcommittees: Recruiting, Rotations and Participant Development.
