ArvinMeritor Opens South
American Center of Excellence to Support Growing Light Vehicle Business
LIMEIRA, SP Brazil (May 21, 2008) — ArvinMeritor’s (NYSE: ARM)
Light Vehicle Systems (LVS) business group announces the opening of a new
Global Center of Excellence located in Limeira, SP, Brazil. The
state-of-the-art 37,000 square foot facility houses research and development
for Fumagalli™ brand steel wheels, with expanded engineering and program
management capabilities to support the LVS growth strategy for body and
chassis systems in South America. “The Global Center of Excellence provides
superior engineering support which is a competitive advantage to our
regional customers in growing markets like the BRIC countries of Brazil,
Russia, India and China,” said Phil Martens, president, LVS, ArvinMeritor.
“The center gives our South American customer base access to LVS’ full
spectrum of advanced smart systems™ technologies for improved vehicle

ArvinMeritor Begins Production of its Dynamic Height Control
System for the Pratt & Miller C6RS Corvette
STUTTGART, Germany (May 7, 2008) – ArvinMeritor, Inc.
(NYSE: ARM) announced today the start of production for the
Dynamic Height Control (DHC) suspension system to be used on the
Pratt & Miller C6RS Chevrolet Corvette. An example of the system
is displayed in the company’s exhibit at the 2008 Vehicle Dynamics
Expo in Stuttgart, Germany.

stability – all critical elements for a successful vehicle

Chassis Systems for the company’s Light Vehicle System (LVS)

ArvinMeritor Announces New Body Systems Products Designed for
Chinese Market
BEIJING, China (April 21, 2008) — ArvinMeritor, Inc. (NYSE:
ARM) today shared details of two new products from its
Light Vehicle Systems (LVS) business group designed specifically
for the growing Chinese and Asian markets. These products were
revealed during the 2008 Auto China Beijing Automotive Exhibition.
The New Asian Latch (NAL) products are a range of modular door
latch designs developed with a footprint concept specifically
customized for Asian vehicle applications. With a compact size and
high longitudinal strength, the range is also aimed at optimizing
the sub-components for local supply and the assembly process for
local manufacturing. This cost-effective and easily-packaged
design is scheduled to launch on a Chinese domestic platform in
the summer of 2009.

Low Energy Release (LER) door latch as a solution for tomorrow’s
vehicle safety and door closure requirements.
The LER uses proprietary electronics and software controls coupled
with an innovative mechanical solution to greatly reduce release
efforts without compromising strength or safety. The LER improves
passive entry functionality; releases at far higher seal loads;
provides silent locking operation; and offers increased resistance
against theft tools.
