ArvinMeritor ‘Revs Up’ Excitement in its SEMA Booth by Exhibiting Custom ‘Cherry Bomb’ Motorcycle
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Nov. 2,
2004) — ArvinMeritor, Inc. (NYSE:
ARM) will showcase the excitement of the aftermarket when it
exhibits the “Cherry Bomb” custom motorcycle in its Supreme Performance booth
(#28017) at the Specialty Equipment Market Association Exhibition (SEMA).
ArvinMeritor is a leader in aftermarket equipment, marketing products under the
Arvin, Gabriel, Purolator, StrongArm and Supreme Performance brand names, as
well as various private labels, and manufactures the Cherry Bomb muffler, on
which the bobber’s theme is based.
“We’re excited to have the Cherry Bomb bike with us
in our booth, because it embraces the heritage and creativity of the automotive
aftermarket,” said Ken Bush, vice president and general manager, Light Vehicle
Aftermarket Exhaust. “Cherry Bomb has been a much-sought-after performance
product since 1968 and is still going strong. We’re thrilled that we have
the bike as a ‘vehicle’ to showcase the Cherry Bomb brand’s continued
growth.”
The motorcycle’s retro look embodies the late-60s
era of automotive, truck and motorcycle customization as it reached its first
peak, Bush said. The bike exemplifies the Cherry Bomb marketing slogan,
“Disturbing the Peace Since 1968,” he added. Souvenir “hero” cards of the
Cherry Bomb motorcycle, as well as t-shirts that bear the marketing slogan, will
be available at the Supreme Performance booth. Brian Klock, the bike’s
designer and builder, will be in the booth to sign the “hero” cards as
well.
