Meritor® MA212 Brake Lining Material Selected as Standard Equipment on International® Tractors

TROY, Mich. (Nov. 26, 2003) ArvinMeritor, Inc. (NYSE: ARM) Commercial Vehicle Systems (CVS) business group announced that International Truck and Engine Corporation has selected Meritor® MA212 brake lining material as standard equipment on its heavy-duty long- and regional-haul tractors. The agreement, effective immediately, includes the premium Class 8 International® 9000i Series tractors.

MA212 brake linings are already standard equipment on school buses and International®  4000, 7000, and 8000 Series vehicles.

The friction material is the standard 20,000 lb. gross axle weight rating (GAWR) lining material especially designed for original equipment Meritor Q Plus™ brakes. It is the latest generation of lining technology available for truck, tractor, trailer, and school bus applications.

“This material is proven to optimize brake performance for the industry-leading Meritor Q Plus brakes,” said Sergio Carvalho, vice president and general manager, CVS Braking Systems, Suspension Systems, Trailer Products and Ride Control. “It yields exceptional brake power and friction stability, without sacrificing lining or drum wear. The MA212 provides excellent stopping, parking, and noise performance."

For the replacement parts market, MA212 linings are widely available through the OEM service parts network and are shipped from ArvinMeritor’s Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket facilities in Florence, Ky., and Brampton, Ont., Canada.
