Metal'Cat Advanced Technology: First Replacement Catalytic Converter with EOBD Homologation
ArvinMeritor is the first equipment manufacturer to
receive EURO III EOBD homologation for a catalytic converter destined for the
aftermarket.
Recognising the importance of environmental issues,
and dedicated to offering customers products at the cutting edge of technology,
ArvinMeritor has made EOBD (European On Board Diagnostics) one of its
priorities. Heavy investment in terms of Technical Research and Development, and
constant monitoring of technological developments by a team dedicated to
catalytic converters, resulted in homologation of the first replacement
catalytic converter at the beginning of 2003.
This catalytic converter, developed for the 1.6
litre Renault Clio, one of Europe's top selling cars, complies with the
Euro III Regulation (2002/80/EC) published for replacement parts in September
2002.
At the Motortec
show which will be held in Madrid from 28th May to 1st June 2003, the
EOBD catalytic converter from ArvinMeritor (Hall 10 Stand A114) will be
entered for the Innovation Award.
Metal'Cat - warranty extended to 4
years
ArvinMeritor's technological advances in the field
of catalytic converters have enabled it to be the only manufacturer today to
offer clients a new 4-year warranty on its entire range of Metal'Cat catalytic
converters. This warranty is effective in Europe from 1st April 2003, and in the
United Kingdom from November 2002.
ArvinMeritor contributes towards protecting the
environment thanks to Metal'Cat catalytic converters which use metallic monolith
substrate technology. In addition to offering higher thermal and mechanical
resistance than ceramic monoliths, the metallic substrate boasts the added
advantage that it is completely harmless to the environment, since it is
entirely recyclable.
Metal'Cat also
offers:
- A range of more than 550 catalytic converter part
numbers;
- The largest range of catalytic converters for
diesel vehicles with more than 120 part numbers;
- Marketing resources adapted to all distribution
networks, including catalogues, consumer brochures, posters;
- Specialist training modules with a video,
technical guides, help sheets;
- Sponsorship on a European level, particularly the
Renault Clio Trophy.
