LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March
19, 2003) — ArvinMeritor Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket today at the Mid-America
Trucking Show announced the availability of an expanded EuclidŽ brake product
line, including “RENEW” remanufactured brake shoes, and the new Posi-Plus™ brake
roller.
“Euclid is an invaluable part of the
heavy-duty aftermarket, and we are proud to carry on the heritage of the Euclid
name and its products,” said Harry Howard, vice president and general manager,
ArvinMeritor Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket. “By expanding our brake offering
for the Euclid brand, we are helping to ensure our customers’ continued success
and competitive edge.”
The “RENEW” brake shoes are
remanufactured and riveted at ArvinMeritor’s remanufacturing facilities in
Plainfield, Ind. and Mississauga, Ont., using Euclid brand friction materials.
The remanufactured brake shoes and kits included in the RENEW line are a
consolidated offering for the most popular brake applications, at competitive
prices tailored to meet the needs of Euclid heavy duty
distributors.
The company is also making available its
Posi-Plus brake roller, which combines two technologies - diamond knurling and
radiused edges. Knurling ensures true rolling action on the cam head, which
helps to eliminate flat spotting on the cam and roller body. The radiused edges
help compensate for uneven pressure, which can cause cracking on the roller body
edges. This combination of technologies extends the overall brake component
life, maintains proper brake adjustment and helps maintain even lining
wear.
Euclid also increased the coverage of
new lined brake shoes with the addition of 30 new part numbers and will continue
to offer its own private brand of friction materials -- on lined shoes and also
as brake block and lining sets.
To complement the Posi-Plus roller,
Euclid also offers StopMate, StopMate Plus and MegaPlus kits. StopMate is a new,
low-priced addition to this product line a high-valued alternative to influx of
low-quality offshore kits. The StopMate kits now provide three different
performance levels to meet truck operators' needs.
